In today’s world, all we see is comparison around us — and it’s unavoidable. Whether in a workplace environment or in normal conversations with people around us, we often compare ourselves with them.

It could be frustrating to see someone else’s life better than us. Some people take the comparison positively as a competition and some take it negatively which can harm their mental well-being and creativity.

It can start from a small thing like a friend traveling for vacation, a friend being promoted in his or her career or it could be excellent grades of a classmate. We subconsciously start to compare our lives with theirs but never realize it. This feeling of comparison could be damaging to our creative minds.

The readers would be curious about, how it can affect creative minds — creativity values uniqueness and freedom. Creativity is about exploring new things, thinking differently, and expressing thoughts.

When we start comparing ourselves to others we limit our thinking and set boundaries around it that are invisible to us. We start questioning our thoughts and skills, think more about how others will perceive this — and stop expressing our imaginative ideas.
